From tribal narratives in Mari Mari Village to the golden light of a sunset cruise, this four-day trip captures, in a nutshell, eastern Malaysia. In Kota Kinabalu, try to take a bite out of the combination of modern and old that is this city. Wade into a bowl of laksa, order some siu mai, or just sit and eat local treats on coastal walkways. In the meantime, find a boat and row out into the water while the sky still illuminates with its sunset colours. Daily plan

  • Meet and greet at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, followed by transfer to hotel.
  • Check in and rest (standard check-in time: 1500 hrs).
  • At 1630 hrs, transfer to Sutera Harbour Jetty for a sunset cruise with buffet dinner and live entertainment.
  • Board at 1700 hrs; view the sunset between 1800 and 1830 hrs (weather-dependent
  • Return to jetty at 1915 hrs; transfer back to hotel by 1930 hrs. Evening at leisure.

  • Breakfast at the hotel; depart at 0915 hrs for Mari Mari Cultural Village.
  • Cross the suspension bridge and begin a cultural walk-through of five tribal homes: Dusun House (tobacco cutting, bamboo cooking, rice wine), Lundayeh House (tree bark weaving), Bajau House (jala cake making, pandan juice), and Murut Longhouse (the headhunter tribe).
  • Try local crafts like bangle-making; visit traditional bridal and ancestral displays.
  • Enjoy a tribal performance at 1130 hrs.
  • Savour an authentic Sabahan lunch at 1200 hrs.
  • Return transfer at 1330 hrs.; afternoon and evening at leisure.

  • Breakfast at the hotel; depart at 0900 hrs for a half-day city tour.
  • Drive past major sights: Wisma Tun Mustapha, City Mosque, and State Mosque (exterior/photo stops).
  • Stop at Signal Hill for panoramic views (subject to road access).
  • Visit the Handicraft Market if time permits.
    Return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day as you like.

  • Dream Holidays does not have any hidden charges except your lunch, dinner (All food in houseboat is included) and personal expenses. During the journey if someone asks for extra money, you may inform us and we will not be responsible if you pay the amount without our concern.
  • Any extra bed/breakfast for kids which is not mentioned has to be paid directly by guest as per the hotel policy
